Crop-Hail Insurance

Hail Insurance covers the insured’s crop for a dollar amount per acre set by the grower.  A hail policy can be taken out at any time the crop is in the ground, but may not be purchased after hail has damaged the current crop. Coverage attaches the day the crop emerges or at 12:01am the day after the policy is written.

Policies can be purchased with a zero deductible or disappearing deductibles based on rates of coverage. 

Perils Covered under a hail policy:

• Hail
• Fire or Lightning
• Transit Accident
• Vandalism and malicious mischief
• Fire department service charge up to $500 per occurrence
